Kwankwaso Anticipates Review of Kano Emirates Law by Abba Yusuf’s Government
In the aftermath of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf triumph at the Supreme Court, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, former Governor of Kano State and leader of the Kwankwasiyya Movement, predicts a reevaluation of the law establishing Kano emirates.
Speculation arises about the possible reversal of the law that birthed five emirates, with potential consequences for emirs who allegedly supported the All Progressives Congress APC governorship candidate, Nasiru Gawuna.
During an interview with Kano radio stations, NNPP leader Kwankwaso expressed anticipation that the government would reconsider the dethronement of Sanusi and the fragmentation of the emirate.
Though I haven’t been directly informed about it, I believe the government under Mr. Yusuf will assess the situation and take appropriate action,” stated Senator Kwankwaso.
He asserted that Governor Ganduje, his political rival, had manipulated the emirates for personal political gains rather than the welfare of the masses.
