The Supreme Court of Nigeria today the 19th August, 2024 heard the Kogi State governorship election case, with His Excellency, Alh Murtala Yakubu Ajaka, the candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), in attendance alongside thousands of his supporters.

After hours of intense deliberation, the Supreme Court has reserved its judgement on the Kogi State governorship election case. The reserved judgement means that the court will deliver its verdict at a later date, yet to be announced.

The Kogi State governorship election has been a subject of controversy and dispute, with the SDP candidate challenging the outcome of the election. The Supreme Court’s decision is expected to be a landmark ruling that will determine the fate of the election and the future of Kogi State.
