In a shocking development, two suspects have been arrested in connection with the assassination of Suleiman Muhammed, a former APC youth leader and a former councilor in Odu Ward 1.
Muhammed, who was also alleged to have been an “APC and a Leader was murdered in Dekina Local Government Area weeks ago. The investigation into his murder has now yielded two key suspects: Hon. Akwu Abdullahi from Odu Ofogo and Ademu Arome, also known as “Lucky,” from Odu Ogboyaga.
The arrest of Akwu Abdullahi led to the subsequent apprehension of Ademu Arome, the second suspect in this high-profile case.
It is important to note that the deceased Muhammed was himself alleged to have been an assassin for politicians in the past. However, this does not negate the need for a thorough investigation into the individuals suspected of orchestrating his murder.
As Omera, a local commentator, pointed out, the “usual way of addressing this kind of matter in Kogi” is for a politician to emerge and blame the opposition, potentially aiming to have the suspects released to be used for “mayhem” in future elections.
The authorities have assured the public that they are committed to pursuing justice and will not be swayed by political maneuverings. The investigation is ongoing, and the community is urged to remain vigilant and report any relevant information to the police.
